Free to Breathe Success!

Author: Lori Highby

Team Keystone Click had a wonderful time supporting Free to Breathe on the Saturday morning of October 11th. Free to Breathe is also known as the National Lung Cancer Partnership (NLCP). Free to Breathe organizes events across the nation to raise awareness and money to fund lung cancer research with the overall goal to double lung cancer survivals by the year 2022.

Keystone Click participated in the Milwaukee 5K Run and 1Mi Walk and cannot wait to do so again next year. The entire event was a huge success, raising over $20,000 which will in turn fund about 4 months of research. There were 35 teams at the event and over 300 people there to walk, run, remember, celebrate, and add passion to a great cause.

Keystone Click was able to raise $1,588 by race day. We came in 3rd place for Team Fundraising, of which we are very proud!

Lori Highby was our fundraising hero, raising $515. Lori placed 3rd for individual fundraisers. Way to go Lori!

Team Keystone Click had a few runners place as well. Hans Wildebushplaced 1st in his age group. Laura Walsh placed 2nd in her age group. David Gipp and Greg Breytook 3rd place in their respective age groups. It was a great day for running!

All in all, Free to Breathe was a wonderful event to be a part of and we cannot wait to participate again next year. Follow Free to Breathe on Facebook, Twitter, and check out their website to learn more. We highly recommend working with this awesome organization. Together, we will double lung cancer survival rates by the year 2022!
