Pantone Color of the Year 2015: Marsala
Introducing the Pantone color of the year for 2015, MARSALA18-1438!
Pantone just announced today that Marsala has been chosen as the color of the year for 2015.
Pantone calls Marsalaa very tasteful hue saying “Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness.”
Personally I love that the color is neither feminine or masculine. Its a very rich earthy tone and a color I’m definitely looking forward to seeing used more often in this upcoming year!
Not everyone is excited about this color though. Marsala is very different from the vibrant colors we’ve seen as Color of the Year for the past few years. People don’t seem to be as excited about the color this year as they have been. I heard this color be compared to a washed out graduation gown, or that it’s very old school.
