Techie Geeky News Online

Mashable – Covers more than just “tech”.  Mashable has been an excellent resource for all news in social and digital media, technology and web since 2005.  This year Mashable made a huge impression online and with us.

Social Media Examiner – Another excellent resource for social media news.  They fancy themselves as “The world’s largest online social media magazine”.  And we agree with that!

TechCrunch – Great focus on gadgets, social, startups and more tech news.  We’ve gotten lots of good tips and details from this blog.

Free tools online

Join.me – Free screensharing and online meetings.  This is an excellent tool.  Easily share your screen with anyone you give access to.  Also, free conference call number for your meeting.  Paid version also available, but we haven’t had to upgrade because the free version is awesome.

Google Apps – Email, Calendar, Web Chat, Google Docs and so much more.  We use Google Apps on a daily basis to survive.  It’s free (for up to 10 users). And it works great.  Our email and calendars are all synched to our mobile phones and our lives are much more organized.

Dropbox – Is an easy and free way to transfer files that are too large to email.  Dropbox allows you to 2GB free.  And the more people you get to use it, the more storage they give you.

Here’s a great list with about 50 other free tools online:
